I know that if the option didn't exist there would be a very vocal group of PC players using that as their argument for why they don't want to play B4B, but as someone who would have no interest in turning the feature off (if I had not purchased from Microsoft) I can't help but think a little disclaimer in game showing current players online for the cross-play setting someone has chosen would have gone a long way towards heading that off at the pass.Given that the game is multiplayer-only and a co-op experience first and foremost, the longevity and success of the game will depend on the number of active players on all platforms.īut, because players will play the game on several different platforms (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC), many of them are naturally interested to find out if the game will support cross-play. In my opinion, having the option to turn off cross-play was the mistake the Devs made. Now, while this is speculation, I wouldn't be shocked if there are a decent number of people on Steam (other than those who feel they've simply seen all there is to offer from B4B) who stopped playing because they didn't know that by turning off cross-play they were likely limiting their pool of players to match with far more than they realized when so far as we can tell the game won't match you with other Steam/Epic users who have cross-play on and got the impression that meant there were no players. I say that as someone who posted this link myself, with the disclaimer that it is unknown how accurate those numbers are. ![]() So, as others have pointed out, this site isn't really a credible source when we don't know how they're collecting the information provided.
